Have
you always wanted to try versatility ranch horse but didn’t think you were good
enough, had the right horse, or didn’t know how to get started, especially on
cows? Maybe you’re just looking for something new to build a better partnership
with your horses. This three day presentation introduces beginner friendly to advanced concepts in our five ranch classes. Each day's highlight feature is
Ranch Cutting with NVRHA, NRCHA professional, Christy Steed, of Steed
Performance Horses, LLC. Christy trains and competes across various ranch horse
disciplines. Advancing a horse to cutting is a top ranch horse skill and
versatility ranch horse is a great place to start. Using no cattle, a
mechanical cow or flag is often used to develop key cutting concepts. Then the
presentations will rotate in Ranch, Riding, Working Ranch, Ranch Trail, or
Ranch Conformation. Gain
new appreciation for the profound partnership that can be built with a horse of
any breed as well as see first-hand what attire and tack our riders usually
wear in homage to the western heritage lifestyle. The Ranch Cutting is

Christy Steed, NVRHA, NRCHA, and AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse (VRH) professional possesses an approachable straight forward way of helping clients and audiences to gain confidence in building their horse rider partnership. Christy grew up in Florida riding barrel horses. Eventually, she went to work under a top professional in both the cutting and the reining. Christy found her true training passion in the Reined Cowhorse. Christy’s eye for detail and ability to convey her message has helped her to have a successful Non-Pro (NP) program. Her hard work crystallized in a season of accomplishments including: AQHA Congress Reining Futurity Finals, Shot Horse of Texas LTD Open World Champion and Versatility Ranch Horse (VRH) Open Ranch Cutting World Champion. These all while coaching the VRH Youth Cutting World Champion. Her approach to training emphasizes clear communication to build trust and confidence in every partnership.

Learn the basics of ranch cutting with NVRHA professional Christy Steed! From
how quietness in cutting a cow from the herd counts and key concepts to
working a cow.This demonstration will teach you exercises to do with your horse, even without cows, that will help develop the skills necessary for a successful cutting run. Then learn skills that will help your horse become more supple and responsive to your cues for the Ranch Riding class where transitions of gait and the way of go for a ranch horse are emphasized.

Learn the basics of ranch cutting with NVRHA professional Christy Steed. From
how quietness in cutting a cow from the herd counts and key concepts to
working a cow. This demonstration will teach you exercises to do with your horse, with and without cows, that will help develop the skills necessary for a successful cutting run. Plus, The Working Ranch Horse reining pattern is performed before the class cow work (boxing, fencing, circling, or optional roping). We’ll introduce the reining maneuvers stops, turns/spins, backing, & circling and how to improve your horsemanship skills to increase the suppleness and responsiveness of your horse.

Learn
the basics of ranch cutting with NVRHA professional Christy Steed. From
how quietness in cutting a cow from the herd counts and key concepts to
working a cow. This demonstration will teach you exercises to do with your horse, with and without cows, that will help develop the skills necessary for a successful cutting run. Discover fun ways to work on Ranch Trial obstacles at home in a safe manner. You
will also learn rope handling skills and ways to practice your roping
using a dummy cow as we don’t require live cow roping.
