The Minnesota Horse Expo is pleased to announce that Minnesota's own Zuhrah Shrine Horse Patrol will perform at the 2013 Minnesota Horse Expo. The Zuhrah Shrine Horse Patrol is a mounted unit of the Zuhrah Shrine Unit, Minneapolis, MN, and was formed in 1946. This
nationally known horse troop has participated in parades throughout
North America – from Toronto to Mexico City, and from Winnipeg to San
Antonio – and has twice participated in the Parade of Roses on New
Year’s Day in Pasadena, CA. The Zuhrah Shrine
Horse Patrol has won many awards for their parade and drill routines
using precision maneuvers. The Zuhrah Horsemen have won the Imperial
Shrine Mounted Patrols competition and also the Midwest Shrine
Association Mounted Patrols Competitions. The
riders’ uniform has evolved over the history of this Shrine unit.
Currently, the uniform is patterned after the style of the American
Cowboy. All Zuhrah Shrine Horse Patrol horses are
sorrel in color and stand 15 to 16 hands. The horses are owned and
maintained by the individual members. The Zuhrah Horsemen have their headquarters at their own 100 acre facility in Maple Plain, MN. The
Zuhrah Horsemen’s slogan is: “We ride so a child may walk.” And yes…They are looking to add a few good members. To learn more please visit
