Safe Hauling Starts Here: Trailer Maintenance Every Trailer Owner Should Know

Presentation Description:
Whether you’re hauling horses every weekend or using your trailer more occasionally, proper maintenance is key to keeping your trips safe and stress-free. This session is designed for everyday trailer owners—with a special focus on the needs of horse owners—covering the essential (and often overlooked) areas of trailer care. We’ll break down the basics like tires, brakes, bearings, and lights, while also highlighting horse & livestock-specific concerns. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of what to check, how often to do it and how to catch small issues before they become costly—or dangerous—problems.

Presenter Bio – Matt Engler:

Matt Engler brings over a decade of hands-on experience in the trailer industry, with a strong focus on maintenance, repair, and long-term trailer performance. As the Service Manager at M&G Trailer on 55 in Buffalo, Minnesota, Matt oversees the service, parts and rental departments, ensuring customers receive expert support and dependable equipment. He has extensive experience working on a wide range of trailers—including horse and livestock trailers, boat trailers, fish houses and other specialty units that many service centers tend to avoid. Matt’s practical, real-world knowledge makes him a valuable resource for everyday trailer owners looking to keep their equipment safe, reliable and ready for the road.
